We earn commissions

HemNote is a reader-supported publication. Many of the outbound links on this site — in brand guides, comparisons, edits, and deal pages — are affiliate links. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, HemNote may earn a commission from the retailer or brand. This is standard practice across shopping-guide publications and is how independent sites like ours can operate without a subscription or paywall.

Commission income is the primary way HemNote funds its research and stays free to read. We participate in, or have applied to, affiliate programs and networks includingAwin and Impact.com, along with individual brand affiliate programs where available.

No extra cost to you

Clicking an affiliate link and buying something never costs you more than buying directly. The price you pay is set by the retailer; the commission is paid by the retailer to us out of their own marketing budget, at no extra cost to you.

What "sponsored" links mean

Where required, outbound affiliate links on HemNote carry a rel="sponsored"attribute in the page's HTML. This is a technical signal to search engines that the link has a commercial relationship attached — it tells crawlers "this link may be compensated," the same way this page tells a human reader. You may also see the same relationship described elsewhere on the site as "reader-supported."

Editorial independence

Affiliate commissions never influence which brands we cover, how we rank them, or what a guide's verdict says. Our research process — described in full onHow We Curate — is the same whether a brand pays a high commission, a low one, or isn't part of an affiliate program at all. We write a guide's conclusions from the research first and attach affiliate links after, not the other way around.

Non-affiliate links

Not every link on HemNote is an affiliate link. Where a brand has no affiliate program, or where we're citing a source such as a Trustpilot page or a Better Business Bureau record, the link is a plain, non-commissioned reference.
